Wakefield Trinity prop Pauli Pauli has joined Salford Red Devils in a month’s loan swap deal which sees Juniour Sa’u go in the opposite direction.
The former NRL forward will be available for selection in Friday night’s Super League match against St Helens.
Pauli said: “It’s always exciting to get on the field with a new bunch of blokes and see how they play.
“St Helens are a top team, so hopefully we can prove this week that we can do something.
“I just want to turn up for the boys and play. That’s why I enjoy playing and that’s what I’m here for.
“Ian Watson’s a great bloke and he’s been very welcoming.”
The Salford Red Devils head coach, Watson said: “This deal with Wakefield means Junior’s going to be able to get some playing time and gain match fitness.
“We’ve also been able to bring in a strike weapon, which will be a massive boost.
“I’ve tracked Pauli since he first came over here and any team will struggle to stop him.”
He added: “This move is big for us. We’ve been looking for something extra and not only will it mean Junior gets that match fitness, but we also bring in a player who is feared by most team’s defences.”
Pauli is set to travel with Salford to face St Helens at the Totally Wicked Stadium on Friday.
