We are delighted to reveal the signing of Kai Morgan on a one-year deal.

The halfback arrives at the Salford Stadium with a lot of promise and will hope to continue his exciting development under the guidance of Paul Rowley.

He becomes our fourth signing of the window, following Nene Macdonald, Ethan Ryan and Matty Foster into the Salford Stadium.

Beginning his young career at amateur club, Siddal, Morgan joined Leeds Rhinos and progressed through the ranks at youth level.

In 2018, Morgan made his academy debut against Wakefield Trinity, scoring once and kicking seven goals in a 50-4 victory.

Going on to make three further appearances that season, he became a post-covid regular in the set-up and started at halfback in the Rhinos’ 2022 Academy Grand Final success over St Helens.

After making multiple appearances for the reserves last season, Morgan will be making the step-up to first grade rugby league and joining our squad in pre-season.

In reaction to joining the club, Morgan said: “I am really excited to be joining a great club in Salford.

“I can’t wait to get to work, meet all the boys, the coaching staff and get stuck in to make 2024 a good one for us, and the fans!”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has also said: “Kai is a very welcome addition to our squad.

“He is a young pivot who I have watched perform consistently well over a decent period of time whilst playing at Leeds.

“He is a terrific young man and everybody at the club is looking forward to working alongside Kai, and supporting him to being his best.”

Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease has added: “I am excited to see what Kai can bring to Salford Red Devils in 2024.

“We have watched his development very closely and believe he has what it takes to compete with our first grade group.

“I believe he will be coming into the perfect environment – under the best team of coaching staff – to realise his potential.

“I would like to welcome Kai and his family to the club and look forward to seeing him in action!”

Everyone at Salford Red Devils would like to welcome Kai to the club and look forward to seeing him in a red shirt very soon.

We are delighted to reveal the signing of Matty Foster on a one-year deal, with the option to extend by a further season.

The 22-year-old becomes our third signing of the window, joining Ethan Ryan and Nene Macdonald at the Salford Stadium.

Predominately a second-row forward, Foster signed for current world champions, St Helens from his amateur club, Blackbrook and spent time in their scholarship programme.

His talent was quickly spotted on international level, where he received a call-up to represent England U16s and the Lancashire Academy.

Foster actually made his debut for Saints against Salford in 2020, but has since been the victim of some unfortunate injury trouble.

Back-to-back ACL injuries and a broken jaw have temporarily halted his exciting progress, but after getting back to full fitness, Foster enjoyed some game time on loan at Saints’ dual-reg side, Swinton Lions.

He will now be hoping to make an impression on Paul Rowley and his coaching staff when we reconvene for pre-season training.

Upon confirmation of his move, Foster has said: “I am thrilled to get this deal over the line and for the opportunity to play for this great club.

“I have always liked the way Salford play their rugby and once Paul Rowley and I had a chat, it was an easy decision to make.

“I am looking forward to the opportunities and to meeting all the players, staff and fans in 2024!”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has also said: “We are delighted that Matty is joining our club.

“He is a very versatile player, which is obviously important within a small squad.

“Everybody who has worked with him – including Kurt, who has previously coached Matty – gives huge praise for his character and commitment to giving everything for the team, which is exactly the type of player we want within our group!”

Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease has also added: “I am thrilled to welcome Matty to Salford Red Devils.

“He has had an unfortunate last couple of years with injury, but we are confident he can get back to playing his best rugby at this club.

“Having already represented England at youth level, it is clear he has all the attributes to be a fantastic player and we believe he can realise that potential here.

“I want to welcome Matty and his family to the Red Devils and look forward to working with him in 2024!”

Everyone at Salford Red Devils would like to welcome Matty to the club and look forward to seeing him in action very soon.
